Blue Jays Send Infielder to Minor Leagues

Los Angeles Signs Biggio to Roster

The Toronto Blue Jays have optioned infielder Cavan Biggio to their Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons. The move comes as the Blue Jays prepare for their upcoming series against the Los Angeles Angels.

Biggio has struggled at the plate this season, batting .206 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 53 games. He has also made several errors in the field.

The Blue Jays are hoping that a stint in the minors will help Biggio regain his form. He is expected to be recalled to the major leagues once he shows signs of improvement.

In a separate move, the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Biggio to a minor league contract. The Dodgers are expected to assign Biggio to their Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Biggio is the son of former All-Star Craig Biggio. He was drafted by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft.
