In a highly anticipated match, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by a convincing margin of 88 runs in the second One Day International (ODI) played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, posted a commanding total of 306 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Opener Tamim Iqbal led the charge with a brilliant century, scoring 127 runs off 128 deliveries. Afif Hossain also chipped in with a valuable 72, while Shakib Al Hasan contributed a quickfire 41.

In reply, Afghanistan's batting lineup crumbled under pressure as they were bundled out for a mere 218 runs in 44.1 overs. Only Rahmanullah Gurbaz (74) and Hashmatullah Shahidi (64) offered some resistance, but their efforts were not enough to prevent a comprehensive defeat.

Ebadot Hossain was the star performer with the ball for Bangladesh, taking 4 wickets for 51 runs. Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz also picked up two wickets each.

With this victory, Bangladesh has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The final match of the series is scheduled to be played on October 7, 2023, at the same venue.
